The NH Series of machining centers is designed to achieve extended hours of operation during High Speed, High Precison Machining.

DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) minimizes vibration which in turn allows for high quality machining, improved surface finishes, faster speeds and cycle times resulting in improved tool life.

High Pressure through tool coolant, combined with a maximum tool length the same size as the pallet, means deep hole drilling and boring can be performed from one side of the work piece.

The machine is also fitted with a Renishaw Probe to allow for accurately locating datum’s when setting up and also inspection of finished sizes within the cutting cycle.

This machine is ideally suited to high volume production runs or more complex work pieces which require machining on multiple faces.

Jodek have immediate requirements for CNC Programmers / Setters on both day and afternoon shifts.
Applicants’ must have the following attributes to be considered for the role,

- CNC machining experience with Fanuc Controls
- Ability to read and understand Drawings
- Be trade Qualified
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be able to follow company Procedures and Policies
- Possess excellent communication skills

The main areas we are targeting within the program are as follows,

1. Develop Leadership in LEAN
In order to ensure that the LEAN implementation program is successful and sustainable, it is critical to develop effective leadership in LEAN. The training workshop will cultivate top management commitment via development of a high level LEAN Implementation Strategy. This strategy will forecast improvements to selected KPIs and establish target cost savings for the project. A LEAN Champion will be appointed and formal training needs will be identified. Customer needs and satisfaction levels will be assessed and documented.

2. Implement Value Stream Mapping
To develop an effective LEAN management system, it is essential to gain a clear understanding of the flow of production from customer demand back through to the supply of raw materials. By gaining a perspective of the entire “value stream” it is possible to identify areas of waste and prioritise improvement efforts accordingly. Meetings will be conducted on a regular basis to track implementation and ensure cost savings objectives are attained.

3. Quick Changeover Systems
In order to improve production flexibility, it is necessary to further develop quick changeover systems on key production lines.

4. Activate Continuous Improvement
A critical aspect of any LEAN initiative is the need to ensure that improvement plans are effectively coordinated and monitored to ensure the achievement of continuous improvement. Sustainable gains in cost reduction and customer satisfaction cannot be achieved unless each improvement step is consolidated and reviewed for further improvement.

5. Introduce 5S Housekeeping
A key building block of an effective LEAN Management program is the safe and efficient organisation of the workplace environment. As such, it is recommended that a high quality 5S Housekeeping system be introduced across Jodek’s Mordialloc facility. 5S is a systematic housekeeping improvement activity which is designed to improve safety and productivity in the workplace. Follow-up meetings will be conducted on a regular basis to monitor the site in accordance with a 5S Implementation Schedule.

6. Introduce Visual Management
In order to cultivate effective employee engagement in the LEAN effort it is essential to ensure that all employees can “see” the improvement process in action. Visual Management is a powerful tool used to display performance metrics and other information pertaining to the LEAN effort such implementation plans and team member achievements. Visual controls at the work station assist employees to perform standard work at the right pace with zero defects.

Introduction of LEAN Management at Jodek’s Mordialloc manufacturing facility will provide significant and sustainable improvements in:

• WIP and Finished Goods inventory levels;
